You may know her from her time as Miss Universe, her enviable Instagram, or even her budding modeling career; no matter how you first discovered Olivia Culpo, if you are anything like us, you were immediately obsessed.
How could you not be? She is the personification of what it means to be a goal getter. “[Deciding to do pageants] was never about winning, it was about growing as a person and [becoming] better suited for something in the future.” We are constantly impressed with the career choices this girl on the rise makes, all while being incredibly charming, grounded, smart, and well dressed, might we add.
And if you are one of her 1.7 million Instagram followers, you may think you know a lot about Olivia. But here are five things you may not know about this former Boston University undergrad, that she shared exclusively with us!
1—She was a band kid! As a daughter of two musicians, Olivia grew up playing the cello in various different orchestras and school ensembles.
2—Olivia is a proud middle child of five.
3—She ended up doing pageants on a whim! She wanted to get her foot in the door of the entertainment industry and looked up to the careers of Maria Menounos, Giuliana Rancic, and Halle Berry (who all happen to be former pageant contestants)!
4—Olivia’s scrappy! Her first pageant gown was a $20 rental (that was “too short and had a hole in the back of it”).
5—Her early 20s were tough, too! Olivia didn’t know which path to take, if she was doing it right, and, admittedly, didn’t feel like she was “enough.” So don’t freak out if you don’t have it all figured it out, either! It will all work out.
