It’s easy to get into the habit of wearing bland color schemes in the fall. Take a walk down Queen Street in Toronto or in any large mall and you’ll find the same hues over and over again: black, brown and gray. These colors are part of the fall standard, and hey, don’t get me wrong, I wear them all the time, but there’s nothing wrong with adding a bit of boldness to your look.
This Fashionista added some sizzle to the standard tones, while still managing to look like she’s part of this season we call fall. It’s hard to know where to add in your splash of color, whether it’s in your handbag, lip color or, in this case, her T-shirt.
My go-to colors to ensure I’m staying #RAD this fall are shades of red, oranges, army greens and, my ever so favorite, off-whites. When the cooler weather starts to hit, I make sure I own at least one super long sweater to keep me warm from head to toe. In October we still manage to get days of sunshine, allowing us to still bare a little arm. This extra long sweater vest is the perfect add-on to any fall ensemble.
All that’s left is the color of your fall ankle bootie. Black has become the standard, my closet can most definitely testify to that. Though, when I’m out shopping for my next shoe style, because let’s face it you can never have too many shoes, I try to change the color every once in awhile. This ankle bootie comes in black or brown for whatever your color preference may be.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Don’t be afraid to stand out with colors to match the season. Fall is all about comfort, style and being bold.”
