Hello fellow fashion lovers! My name is Kayla and I am a junior at Eastern Michigan University. I am obsessed with all things fashion and I am beyond excited to be a CollegeFashionista Style Guru!
I am currently a double major in Journalism and Apparel and Textile Merchandising with a minor in Marketing. My ultimate career goal is to work in the magazine industry doing digital media, editing and/or writing.
In addition to being a Style Guru, I am also the Arts and Entertainment section editor for my campus newspaper and I work as a sales associate at Victoria’s Secret. I also have my own fashion and lifestyle blog called Kayla’s Chaos.
I have lived in Michigan my entire life, but I plan on moving to a different state to attend graduate school next year. I would like to earn a master’s degree in journalism or a related field.
Besides my passions of writing and fashion, I also love photography and traveling. I studied abroad in Italy for a short time this year and I have been to many different places within the United States with my favorites being New York, Los Angeles and Chicago.
Although I do not identify with one specific style, a lot of my clothes are very urban and sporty. However, I can definitely be a huge girly girl at times too. I love pulling pieces from almost any style and any store and trying to figure out a way to mix it with what I already have.
My closet staples are probably my yoga leggings, my sneaker collection and hoop earrings. As you can see in my outfit today, I also love prints! My tribal printed yoga leggings are from Victoria’s Secret and my floral print tank top is from Hurley. Sometimes I also take a break from my sneakers to do something more simple like moccasins or flip flops.
