Fall semester is upon us, which obviously means new clothes and a new STYLE GURU BIO. If you are new here, I’m Lex. I’m a sophomore at Central Michigan University studying Fashion Merchandising and Journalism. While on campus I capture Central’s elite Fashionistas/os. Since this is my second year as a Style Guru, I plan to deliver fall favorites, including knits, layers and boots.
As a college student, I understand, it is hard to find the motivation to dress up, especially, once the weather gets chilly. It is so convenient to transition your sweats from class to Netflix. However, do you look the part? One of my fashion professors insists we put ourselves together for her class. In my mind, that just makes sense. When you look the part, you feel better. As a Style Guru, I will share realistic college looks that are comfortable yet presentable. Although you may be looking at my outfit and highly doubting that, I can promise you, it’s actually quite comfy.
If I could, I would choose dresses over pants any day. This floral option looks great with socks, boots and ultimately screams fall. Overall, these over the knee boots from Jeffrey Campbell make any simple look stand out. Choosing statement pieces for back to school can actually change up your closet. Accessories can have the same effect. Wearing hats, sunglasses, and an cross body bag can transform your outfit in minutes. They also can be functional for everyday college classes. Instead of carrying your gorgeous Michael Kors purse to class opt for a smaller version, so you are only carrying the necessities.
When I’m not taking photos for CollegeFashionista, I’m updating my blog, ThatChicLex.
I’m excited to continue searching campus for the best dressed Fashionistas/os. Check back every month for your new fall fashion favorites.
