The Just Cavalli 2016 resort collection had a lot of influence from Japan with the kimono-like silhouettes and the vibrant floral prints. I’ve always been a sucker for anything elegant, pretty and somewhat unique, so naturally I had to try the silk kimono look. It’s not exactly a new trend, but it is something great to have in your closet when you feel like spicing up a simple outfit. I always like the kimono to be the focal piece of the outfit so I paired it with a plain orange bodycon dress that I felt complemented the floral pattern along the hem of the kimono. The fact that the kimono is sheer also makes it perfect for the warm weather. I love the way the color of the dress shows through the print of the kimono—it gives it such a fun look.
I left my hair natural and curly and paired accessories that were girly and flirty (just like the kimono). My necklace, ring, watch and bracelet have a gunmetal look which I think looks great with black, so it paired well with my black sandals and the predominately black kimono. The black wedged sandals were the perfect shoes for a flirty look like this and they totally make this outfit perfect for a date or a night on the town. You can also see my black bralette peeking through a little bit. Bralettes are perfect for anything that has an open back or is too low cut so I thought it was a good idea to layer under my dress.
