STYLE GURU STYLE: Toppin' Off The Start Of Spring

I totally have a crush on the evolving “boho-chic” trend that has been sweeping popular fashion styles. This trend allows you to be who you are in any way, shape or form. The boho look, which is much owed to the hippie styles that developed in the ’60s, has taken over the fashion world and has been incorporated many new looks. Rachel Zoe’s spring ready-to-wear collection is full of classic bohemian looks with whimsical prints and bright hues. From floral dresses to crotchet tops, this free spirit look is filling girl’s closets including mine.

This pink and paisley knit dress has become one of my main boho staple pieces now that spring has arrived. It is an effortless look that really makes the lazy days easier. Although this look is predominately casual, there are dressier versions of this style that are perfect for a night out. I dressed my look up with a chunky bracelet and strappy sandals for my lunch out with the girls. Keeping to the bohemian’s authentic look, I went for an all-natural topknot hairstyle. I paired my natural hair with as little makeup as possible to create a fresh-faced look. What says boho better than natural? Nothing!

This distinctive style is bonafide and adds variation in silhouettes at retail. Some of the largest retailers showcase boho chic such as Urban Outfitters, Free People and Anthropologie. This style doesn’t always necessarily refer to the original ’60s method of bell sleeves and A-line tops, but it does refer to the ability to be a free spirit in the way you dress. I crave to be able to be myself, and with this nonconformist look, I am able to do just that.

Get My Look: 1. A Bohemian sundress. 2. Classic brown sandals. 3. A chunky beaded bracelet.
