Hey Fashionistas and Fashionistos! Let me start off by introducing myself. My name is MacKenzie O’Connor and this fall I will be one of Framingham State University’s Style Guru interns here at CollegeFashionista. I’m so excited to see my major in Fashion Merchandising and my minor in Communications come together in such a RAD way.
Here at Framingham State, I’m also a Black & Gold Orientation Leader, so going up and talking to strangers has become second nature over the past two summers I’ve spent in the position. Going up to people I’ve never spoken to and talking to them about their own personal style is a piece of cake.
Merging my love of fashion and social media is something I am super excited about. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always wanted to work in fashion or the arts in some way or another. For me ,fashion has always been a source of comfort. I love the way different outfits make you feel, especially monochromatic black looks. It’s something about the way that you can put on black with almost everything and still have it look cute. It’s the way that everyone appears so Parisian and chic in all black.
Clearly, I wasn’t the only one who loved this look for fall, as it was popping up all over the fall runway. To emulate a similar look, I wore a black surplice top and a pair of black high rise skinny jeans. For my shoes I chose my mirrored oxfords, which add a perfect unexpected point of interest to the outfit.
To top it all off, I added another essential to my personal style, red lipstick. Right up next to coffee, it’s my go to picker-upper. Together, they can make almost everything better. Rainy day? Red lipstick and coffee. Class presentation? Red lipstick and a lot of coffee.
So, grab yourself a coffee and get ready. This is about to be one RAD semester.
