Hola, Ni Hao, Bonjour, Hello—my name is Montana Moyer! I’m so excited to begin writing for CollegeFashionista. All my life I have lived in Eastern Pennsylvania, right outside of Philadelphia and my dream has always been to work in New York City. During high school, I got accepted to the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City, but decided it wasn’t the school for me. Instead, I chose to attend Kent State University to pursue a major in Fashion Merchandising. As a kid, I hated it when my mother would pick out my outfits for me every single day. That was when I realized that the fashion world is where I belong. I never really had one particular style, I just like what I like. Lately, most of my outfits have been inspired by candid photographs you typically see on the internet.
Ever since I was a kid, my family has loved to take vacations in different states around the country. Whilst traveling, I have come to discover hundreds of popular fashion trends. I always thought it was fun to look around and see the unique styles different people may have. Growing up in my town, there wasn’t much to do, so I often found myself hanging around the mall. When I discovered the art of shopping, my love for fashion had blossomed. Throughout the years, fashion has began to take up most of my life. I’ve always been flattered when people compliment my clothes or ask me for help to put an outfit together for them. My friends and family are always asking me “Does this shirt go with this skirt?” or “Is it okay to wear these shoes with this dress?”
Though my closet does contain a lot of black, I’ve never had one specific taste. At the moment, my favorite thing to accessorize with is floppy hats. Pairing this hat with a flowy kimono gives the outfit a very hipster and bohemian vibe. My sister found these RAD shoes and I just had to get myself a pair. They are the perfect pair for giving an outfit a “grunge rock” look.
