I am Mary Evelyn and I am sophomore at the University of South Carolina. I am studying Fashion Merchandising and plan on minoring in Public Relations. Fashion has always been a part of my life and now I get to make it an everyday thing by making a career out of it.
I can’t pinpoint what my exact sense of style would be considered, but I would like to think that it is classic with an edgy flare. My go-to items are my olive green military jacket and white converse. Both go with virtually anything. I am also a sucker for a charming statement necklace to wrap up any outfit. My end goal for my fashion career would be styling musicians or to be the menswear director for a big fashion house.
Being from a small town I tend to pull my fashion inspiration from street-style images from big cities such as London and New York City. No matter where you are from you can find inspiration. One of my all-time favorite quotes is, “Always keep your eyes open. Keep watching. Because whatever you see can inspire you.” This is from Grace Coddington, creative director for American Vogue. I believe that the way we observe the world around us will affect the way we dress ourselves. Fashion is whatever you make of it so make it worthwhile!
