Hey everyone! My name is Oru Wonodi and I am so glad to be joining the CollegeFashionista team this semester. I am currently a sophomore Business major and Spanish minor at the University of Maryland, College Park. I’ve always been interested in fashion and the arts ever since I was young. I would even sketch out outfits in my free time.
When it comes to style I have three main mantras: 1. Black goes with EVERYTHING. 2. Never leave the house without earrings. 3. Less can definitely be more
However I’m never opposed to kicking it back in my favorite sweatpants and my UGGs.
For my future in fashion, I plan on using my business degree and my love for style to help future launch my clothing brand, NOVA Prints and Apparel. I like to use it as a vessel to show art styles from the other places in the world, while of course, giving each country/culture their credit. I’m excited because my next line of clothes with involve influences from my Nigerian and West African culture, as well some philanthropy of some sort.
My personal style is half-way between super boho and super modern/grunge. I love a good maxi dress, just as much as I love a dark lipstick and leather skirt. Luckily my favorite store, Topshop, gives me all I need.
