Hi everyone! My name is Tiffany Borrego, and I am currently a sophomore majoring in International Relations and minoring in Spanish and Criminal Justice at the University of Central Florida. I am so thrilled to be taking part in the CollegeFashionista Style Guru program because I will be able to show everyone my take on popular styles and beauty trends!
I was raised in Tampa, Florida by Cuban and Venezuelan parents, so I have grown up with various cultural influences that definitely show through my style. I decided to move to Orlando for college because UCF has been one of my favorite schools for many years and I am still close to my family.
Being a dancer for 11 years made me change my style very often. I would have to have a full face of makeup for recitals, sometimes making me feel like a clown with bright coral cheeks, red lips and sparkly outfits, and then a whole outfit change into Converse, joggers and a crop top. All of those outfit changes motivated me to try different styles when I got older because I noticed that changing my makeup or outfit could even change how I felt.
My style ranges from super preppy to grunge to boho but my favorite color will always show through in my outfits—black. Black is and will forever be my favorite color to wear because of how versatile it is. It can be dressed up or down and I wear black practically every day. In today’s look I am wearing a black circle hat, white lace peplum top, ripped skinny jeans and wooden-heeled gladiator sandals. For accessories, I am wearing my Cartier LOVE bracelet, a Pandora bracelet, Alex and Ani bracelets and my gold rings that I wear every day.
There’s a quote by Christian Louboutin that has always inspired me: “Fashion isn’t interesting when it comes from an uninspired place.” Keep getting inspired and keep inspiring people around you. You’re unique and beautiful in your own way!
