Hey there, Fashionistas/os! I’m back! I had a lovely summer up in New York, the place I’m proud to call my home. For the past three months I had been interning with BELLA New York Magazine, a women’s luxury lifestyle magazine based in NYC. Part of my internship included roaming the streets of NYC and taking photos of trendy people around the city. Every day was a unique experience, but my favorite part of my internship was attending BELLA’s Annual Hamptons Celebrity White Party. It took place in Southampton and was hosted by Lisa Vanderpump; it was also filmed by Bravo! and VIP guests included some of Bravo!’s biggest reality TV stars. The event was the cherry on top of the best summer I ever had. Although I was upset when it was time to leave the “concrete jungle where dreams of made of”, I still knew that my heart was missing beautiful Tampa Bay.
This is my second semester as a Style Guru, and my third year attending the University of Tampa. I’m an Advertising/PR major with a minor in English Literature. I plan on pursuing a career in fashion, but I still haven’t decided if I want a career in fashion advertising or fashion editorial. I guess we’ll just see where the wind takes me (hint: I know it’ll blow me back to New York).
In addition to being a Style Guru this semester, I’m also working on being certified in fashion industry essentials by Teen Vogue and Parsons School of Design. I only have three semesters left in university, and I’m trying to add as much value to my name as I can before I graduate.
Being a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista opens so many doors for me within fashion. Last December I attended CollegeFahsionista’s holiday party in NYC, and I had the incredible opportunity to meet Cosmopolitan Magazine’s fashion director, Aya Kanai. This internship also allows me to meet so many students around the country with a passion for fashion just like me!
My style is simple, yet elegant. My favorite color is black, and I try to incorporate it into whatever I am wearing. Today I’m wearing a lotus printed top and skirt, nude kitten heels, a matching nude bag and light jewelry.
