Hello, my fellow Fashionistas! My name is Veronica Rossi and I am a junior at the Pennsylvania State University, majoring in Advertising and Journalism and minoring in Business. I am absolutely thrilled and thankful to say this is my third semester writing for CollegeFashionista (WOW, how time flies when your having fun!). I am always on the lookout for upcoming fashion looks and styles, and I know this fall will bring some more amazing trends! I cannot wait to blog about my favorite looks during this semester and learn so much more about fashion and myself as a Fashionista.
This past summer, I was given the unreal opportunity to study abroad in Milan, Italy, one of the world’s major fashion capitals! Combining CollegeFashionista with an abroad experience, including fashion courses in one of the world’s major fashion capitals, was an absolute dream come true for me. I learned more than I ever imagined just by being embedded in the culture there. The shopping was obviously unbelievable, and I am already planning my trip to go back very soon!
Hailing from Long Island, New York, I have spent a lot of my lifetime in NYC. My trips to NYC my whole life sparked my interest in fashion at a very young age and my passion has only grown since. CollegeFashionista has given me the ability to learn more about fashion in general and my fashion sense in a creative way that is extremely enjoyable.
While studying at Penn State, I am also a member of the National Championship Lionettes Dance Team. When I am not in uniform performing in front of 107,000 fans in Beaver Stadium, I enjoy dressing trendy in my favorite looks. Dance and fashion have both been strong passions of mine for as long as I can remember and I just love that I can express myself through both of them. Being a dancer and constantly in workout clothes for convenience, I appreciate the chance to dress up a little extra.
I feel as though my style is always changing and that I am always finding new fashion trends and brands that I love, and want to contribute to my style. Although I am always finding new fashion trends, I do also have many trends and brands that I have been consistently in love with. My all time favorite fashion brand is Free People;Â I feel as though their brand is timeless and extraordinary. I also love Brandy Melville, Forever 21, American Eagle Outfitters, Nike and lululemon Athletica. I have a special love for denim jackets, dark lipstick, aviator sunglasses, jumpers, layering necklaces, bell sleeves and bell-bottoms.
I love fashion so much because I view it as a way of showing others who I really am. I see fashion as more than just a race to having the newest and coolest looks, but as a way for me to dig into my own personality and dress accordingly no matter what others are wearing. One of my favorite feelings is getting ready for an occasion and putting together that perfect outfit that gives you such a confidence boost that you find yourself smiling in the mirror. I am a strong believer in standing out when it comes to fashion because, to me, it really is such a huge form of expression. I am so thankful for the opportunity I have been given to be a Style Guru again this semester.
