Hi there! My name is Sharvelle Bullock. I’m from a surrounding suburb of Chicago. I am a third year Journalism student at Illinois State University. I am also minoring in the Spanish Language. This is my second semester as a Style Guru, I started this past summer. I am so glad that I have the opportunity to continue to grow with CollegeFashionista.
Originally, I found out about CollegeFashionista from other ISU students interested in the fashion industry. Along with music and classic movies, fashion is one of my greatest loves. Since I was eleven years old, the fashion industry has always captured my attention. I decided that I wanted to make a career out of it. Over the years, I have dabbled in many areas of the industry: writing, styling, sewing and even designing. One of my aspirations is to write and design editorials for a publishing company in New York City. Writing for CollegeFashionista, as well as working on my own blog, will help me better improve my skills. Just this past summer, I have learned more about developing my own style, in my writing and in my closet.
As far as my style, I love trying new things. I believe the best way to improve your personal style is try all of them. I like to mix trends. Lately, I’ve been trying more prep styles, stripes and plaid patterns. I also really like to play around with colors and fabric. With the fall, one of the best times for fashion, quickly approaching cute boots and sweaters are right around the corner.
Fashion is a physical portrait of how you feel and what you’re thinking. With that being said, since change is inevitable in life, it should be the same in your wardrobe. My favorite thing in my closet right now is my pair of burgundy skinny jeans that I bought from Charloette Russe.
I am super thrilled to take this journey and I can’t wait to see where the road takes me. Buckle in, I’m sure it’s going to be a joy ride.
