I am constantly looking for fashion inspiration because I like to mix things up every once in a while and have fun creating outfits. Luckily, the Rosetta Getty’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection provided me with just that! The loose-fitting clothes and fluid silhouettes paint a beautiful picture of the word freedom, by accommodating movement and embracing the dance theme.
I was particularly attracted to this look from the collection. With the flare trousers and leotard-like fit of the top, it nicely combines masculine shapes and feminine fashion, and expresses a very uncommon take on style. This outfit plays with proportions in a very flattering way and this is exactly what inspired me to recreate it for a more practical, everyday setting.
This summer witnessed the reemergence of wide-leg pants, commonly known as culottes, and it looks like they will remain a major trend this fall. I decided to switch my usual skinny jeans and pencil skirts with these wide-cut, ankle-length trousers for a change. They are very comfortable and I love the dressy fabric that instantly adds a touch of elegance to my outfit. I decided to play with shapes and proportions and added this heather gray top with the side slits. Pairing this dress-like shirt with the pants gives off a very boho-chic vibe. Overall, this look is very unexpected with its masculine undertone and feminine silhouette.
I kept the color palette of this outfit neutral and added my own creative touch with this chain necklace, floppy hat and these gladiator sandals. They add some cohesion and nicely finish off the look.
Get My Look: 1. A neutral top. 2. A pair of culottes. 3. A floppy hat. 4. A pair of gladiator sandals.
