I own two grid print shirts, a grid print dress and a grid print cosmetic case. I think that’s definitely saying something; I’ve been a bit obsessed with grid print this past year! I prefer the white grid print over any other color because I have also been loving white clothing this past season. I think the white grid print was perfect for the sunny, hot summer days but is also great for transitioning into the fall. By adding a cardigan of a warmer tone, such as maroon, over a grid printed top can totally spice (get it? like pumpkin spice latte) up and add a taste of fall.
Inspired by Jeremy Scott’s spring 2016 ready-to-wear collection, I added a little bit of his style and a little bit of my style. I loved the retro vibe of his collection and how it reminded me of the artwork of Andy Warhol and the costumes in Austin Powers. The colors incorporated in this collection were out of my style, so I opted for a more monochromatic outfit while keeping that retro feel given by my grid print dress. I threw on a blazer to dress up the outfit and add a modern twist to it.
If you have been following my posts for a while, you should know that I love monochromatic looks and I somehow always end up pairing blacks with whites. Does anyone else have that problem? I just love how simple yet fashionable an outfit can be with neutral colors like black and white due to its versatility and flexibility.
Fashion repeats itself so have some fun and mix styles from different eras to create a look that perfectly describes you, Fashionista!
