BEAUTY BAR: Meow, Scratch, Purr

The cat eye has the power to dominate both the runway and streets. This technique has been worn by classic stars, such as Sophia Loren and Marilyn Monroe, and many of today’s celebrities, including Lauren Conrad, Taylor Swift and the Kardashian/Jenner sisters (how could we leave them out?). In general, eyeliner is used to define, open and enhance the color within the iris, similar to the dark outlines of a coloring book. The cat eye technique, however, is an innocent way to add a bit of flirtatiousness to any look. It’s completely shameless!

This Fashionista has flawlessly demonstrated how easy it is to add a classy touch to any basic outfit. Her nautical vibe is simple and clean, which means it can easily be dressed up or down. Instead of adding a statement necklace or heavy amounts of jewelry, the Fashionista kept her look simple and neutral and instead, dramatized her eyes. She even kept the rest of her makeup fairly natural, with a chestnut colored blush, lightly drawn brows, a mauve-rose lipstick and no eyeshadow.

I guess you can say this cat eye thing is pretty “paw-some.”

What’s on the BEAUTY BAR: To achieve this look, this Fashionista used the infamous Kat Von D Tattoo Liner in Trooper . The great thing about this product is not only that it is highly-pigmented and waterproof, but it also has a brush tip applicator, making application precise and easy to control. If you’re a beginner at this technique and still experimenting with the look (not ready to commit? Don’t worry), Maybelline and COVERGIRL offer great alternatives.
