It’s internship season, which means it’s time to spruce up your wardrobe! I work with this Fashionista at Diane von Furstenberg and day after day, she walks in looking fabulous. Among all of my internships, I have never worked at a place where no one wears black. At DVF, just like the welcoming illuminated sign says, “Feel like a woman, wear a dress!” So everyone in the office generally is wearing a dress or skirt and lots of color. Being a firm lover of an all-black wardrobe, this meant that I needed to go shopping and revamp my style. This Fashionista showed me the way—how to look lady-like and proper, but chic and fashion-forward at the same time.
In this look, she is wearing a pant and blouse combo, which is a rare sighting in the office. However, her adorable frilly top has just the right amount of ruffle and ripple. It shows off her fit figure and the frill at the neck brings attention to her face. I am also a firm believer that this season, olive is the new black. This Fashionista chose to drape an olive blazer over her shoulders, in case it got chilly and to add to the effortless look. Following the olive theme, she paired it with an olive DVF zipper clutch—a must-have, if I’m not being biased.
My absolute favorite aspect of this outfit is her shoes. Whenever she wears them, I cannot help but make googly eyes. Unfortunately she got them a while ago, but I found a similar substitute. They are the perfect amount of sexy and business, as well as comfy and easy to match. If you’re going to try out the olive craze, accessories in nude or warm camel pair the best with it. Top the outfit off with some accessories—she’s a David Yurman fanatic—and you are ready to impress your employers at your internship!
One Simple Change: Forget the blazer, take off the sunglasses and let your hair down—now you’re ready for a girl’s night out with this outfit.
