When the leaves start to change into beautiful autumnal colors and coffee switches from iced to hot, style gravitates towards warm colors and cozy pieces. Though it’s hard to let the heat of summer go, the calming crisp air allows us Fashionista/os to bundle up with stylish accessories. Scarves, sweaters, boots and light jackets are just some of the items we reach for to achieve the perfect fall look. One of my favorite things to do when styling fall outfits is to incorporate autumn colors within a look.
This Fashionista does a magnificent job integrating seasonal colors into her incredible outfit. Her plaid scarf acts as a focal element, and really ties the entire ensemble together. Various colors in the scarf really join together the other pieces in the outfit to create a fall uniform. The scarf sets the stage for the rest of the getup with its bright colors, fringed edges and plaid detailing. Scarves are such a simple way to really make an look stand out, and as an added bonus they keep you warm on chilly autumn days.
Another great part of the Fashionista’s outfit is her riding boots. Riding boots have become a massive trend for the fall season in recent years, and for a good reason. Worn with dark rinse skinny jeans, the boots give the look a clean look and keep your feet protected from whatever unpredictable fall weather we may face. These Tory Burch boots are the holy grail of equestrian styled footwear, and are a high demand among those who want to achieve a perfect outfit centered on riding boots. The Fashionista finished up the look by tucking her indigo-dyed skinny jeans into her boots. This look immediately tidies up her whole ensemble.
How To: Do you want to get a perfect fall look, like this fashionable student? All you need are a pair of dark brown riding boots, dark wash skinny jeans, a military-inspired jacket and a scarf that stands out. To tie the scarf as styled in this look: fold the rectangle material into a triangle, wrap one end around the neck, then wrap the other end on the other side of the neck. Finally, gravitate more towards warm colors when choosing your ensemble pieces. You’ll be ready for apple picking and pumpkin carving in no time!
