It’s been almost a month now since school started here at Western, but getting back to 8:00 a.m. classes and the homework grind can sometimes still be a struggle for some students. However, with the help of a morning cup of coffee and the beautiful fall aura surrounding campus, school has become a little more doable.
Now that school is back in session, it’s not unlikely that you will find yourself going to interviews, meetings and other special events throughout the school year. During these events, it’s always important to be mindful of what you wear and how you present yourself. I believe that one’s overall outfit and appearance can say a lot about them.
In Camilla and Marc’s fall 2015 ready-to-wear collection, I saw silhouettes and color schemes that expressed the looks of a confident and powerful modern-day woman, who is ready to make her mark on the world. With the image that this collection portrayed and with society’s growing population of girl bosses and female entrepreneurs, I became inspired to ditch the usual little black dress for a crisp, black blazer.
Lately, I’ve been falling in love with how clean and put-together a tailored suit looks, and how comfortable it feels when you’ve found the right fit. I used a similar monochromatic palette to the one seen on the Camilla and Marc runway by pairing a black blazer and white T-shirt with floral print pants, which resembled one of the prints in the collection. Also, for someone who is always on the go, an everyday tote can be a real lifesaver because it can carry nearly all of your necessities. Plus, it’s extremely helpful to always have all your belongings in one place.
Lastly, to complete the look, you can’t forget about a statement pair of heels. I took the hints of red-orange in the collection and wore my red, suede, strappy heels. These go-to heels are pretty comfortable to walk in and give the look a touch of glamour.
Get My Look: 1. Black blazer. 2. Floral pants. 3. Strappy heels.
