If you’re anything like me, simplicity is what your everyday wardrobe revolves around. Pieces that are comfortable but chic are my forte. I prefer to blend in but still have my own personal sense of style. And this is exactly why the Animale São Paulo fall 2016 collection stood out to me. Each look is centered on wearing head to toe neutral colors that are brought together by a single statement piece of bold color. Whether it’s red heels, a pale yellow scarf or a green purse, these pieces stand out just enough to draw the eye without being over the top.
I took inspiration from this collection and put together a look to bring the runway style to the campus sidewalks. I wore a pair of comfy black leggings with a touch of gold studded detail on the sides along with my go-to combat boots that are great for bearing the constant walking and changing weather.
Since the collection focuses on having either a plunging neckline or a high one, I opted to pick a shirt that had the latter. While plain and simple on the front, the satin like material dresses it up just enough with a gathering at the waist to add shape. I finished off the look with my bold statement piece of choice, my favorite mustard yellow peacoat. I thought this was the perfect way to take inspiration from the collection while still staying warm in the fall weather.
The models of this collection stuck with the theme of focusing around a single bold color and kept a minimal beauty look. Most of them had their hair worn down and flowing freely with a nude lip and clean face, which is exactly what I do on a daily basis. I also made sure the carry my staple tote bag to lug my books and necessities around.
