As the holidays grow closer, the temperature is starting to plummet. That means it’s time for all of your favorite fall pieces. Bring on the sweaters, scarves and vests. Fur dominated the fall 2015 runway at Michael Kors. Almost all of the looks included touches of fur, adding to the glamorous aesthetic of the brand. I was inspired by this look, featuring a long fur vest over an army green coat.
Fur vests are a simple way to incorporate the fur trend. While fur stoles and mink coats may look chic on the runway, they can be a bit hard to pull off in real life. Enter the fur vest. It’s the perfect fall piece to layer over your favorite sweaters and blouses for a luxe touch. The added texture will liven up your fall basics. I paired this black fur vest with a cream cashmere sweater for some added warmth. I stuck with some go-to fall pieces, rather than trying to adopt the full runway look.
I’m also wearing my favorite pair of black skinny jeans and my black motorcycle boots, staples I wear almost every day. In lieu of my winter coat, this vest lends a more sophisticated vibe. For extra chilly days, you could layer your coat over the vest. This vest is thin enough for layering, without adding too much bulk. Fur has been a major runway trend for the last few seasons and it doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere.
