ALL IN THE DETAILS: Fleecy, Fluffy Fabrics

When the weather starts to get colder, it is difficult to walk around campus without looking like a shapeless sleeping bag. The days start to get shorter and the nights start to get longer, which makes me want to crawl into my bed and hibernate for a few months. After a nice Thanksgiving break, the first semester has almost come to an end. It is getting more and more difficult to look well-dressed when my amount of homework is abundant and amount of sleep is dwindling. The solution is simple: clothing that is fashionable and fun, yet cozy whilst remaining functional.

This Fashionista’s fluffy sweater is the perfect example of a functional yet fun and cozy winter staple. It is thick enough to wear without a coat, yet it does not look bunchy or overwhelmingly large. Paired with a navy, jacquard-patterned skirt and black tights, the sweater is slightly chunky, but provides this Fashionista with warmth. The beanie adds to her laid-back, yet put-together vibe. During the colder, windy months, a beanie not only helps with warmth, but also helps to tame tangled tresses. Her gray nail polish is appropriate for winter, and the gold rings add a little metallic shine to her interesting, textured details. Matching the rings, the Fashionista dons a black Kate Spade cross-body bag with a gold logo and gold buckles. The final “cool girl” aspects of her look are her black, leather Dr. Martens. They are slightly edgy, and practical for New York City, but they are also casually chic. She looks thoroughly cool without trying too hard.

How To: Do you want to look casually cool and cozy without looking like a shapeless sleeping bag? Simply find a fun and fuzzy sweater. Not only will this provide you with warmth and fun, but it also looks adorably cuddle-worthy.
