Cue the teeth chattering, the visible breath and the frustration of not knowing what to wear that is both stylish and warm! As temperatures continue to drop, I know most of us struggle to find a balance between style and surviving the cold. Finding a good compromise always proved to be difficult for me, and I know many say that you simply cannot compromise. The most simple answer? Layers.
Yes, I know this is obvious, but so many people tend to overlook this easy tip. Any sort of extra layer will only help but make sure it’s done tastefully to avoid looking too bulky.
This Fashionista layered a knit top over a simple crop top. You only get a slight peek of the top, but since her knit top is so chunky, she was able to fit another layer underneath for extra warmth. The side slits on her top added some length to her body, as did pairing black skinny jeans with black booties for an elongated leg. To finish off her look, she threw on a longline duster camel coat, which is a major trend right now. The length of the coat also allows for more coverage versus a coat that stops at the hip.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Layering is a great way to stay comfortable when it’s chilly on your daily commute but toasty in class. I like to wear this long coat because it protects my legs from the wind while adding a touch of drama to the ensemble.”
