It’s finally that time of the semester when college students pack up a bag and head home for a much-needed break. After a long week jam-packed with papers and exams, the last thing anyone wants to do is think about packing or what to wear on the trip home. When traveling, dressing comfortably and chic often poses quite the challenge. Whether it’s a long flight, a bus ride or a carpool with friends, it’s always best to opt for breathable fabrics and lots of layers. You never know if the heat or AC will be on full blast, and the last thing you want is to be uncomfortable for the entire trip.
This Fashionista’s look embodies my ideal “sit-on-a-bus-for-five-hours” outfit (or whatever type of travel it may be). She started off her minimal look with leggings and a high neck crop top. An all-black base is the perfect canvas for styling with unique statement pieces. To elevate the ensemble as well as add warmth, she threw on a slightly oversized camel-colored coat. Pairing black with various shades of brown has been a huge trend this fall season. The neutral combination forms a bold yet wearable juxtaposition that is perfect for the colder months. Plus, she saved a ton of space in her suitcase by wearing a bulkier item like a coat.
For shoes, this Fashionista laced up in some adidas Superstars, which are both comfortable and incredibly on-trend at the moment. Overall, they give the look a sporty-chic edge that has become increasingly popular for its practicality and versatility. She kept her accessories neutral, donning a pair of retro cat eye sunglasses, a simple gold necklace and a Marc by Marc Jacobs backpack. Her white headphones serve as both an accessory and entertainment, matching her bright white sneakers and enhancing the overall chill vibe. Lastly, the pink suitcase adds an unexpected and playful pop of color.
One Simple Change: To take this look from day to night, swap out the sneakers for a killer pair of over-the-knee boots. Ditch the luggage and throw on a statement necklace, and you’ll be ready to transition from travel to dinner date!
