Attention boys and girls. It is December, meaning Florida is about to have its few days of sweater weather. This is not a drill. I repeat: Semi-cold weather is coming. So, be prepared. Get out your oversized sweaters, boots, beanies and plaid flannels because you don’t want to miss this.
Personally, I’ll be reaching for the plaid flannel. Plaid has been around forever, well, since the 1700s to be precise. It even has its own day of celebration, May 18th, you’re welcome. So, it’s no secret, and really no surprise, that this trend has been making a comeback for a while now. It was all the rage in the ’90s, had that sad era of being only for lumberjacks, came back only for hipsters to enjoy and is now a staple piece in every wardrobe. Usually, when I think of this trend, I think of wearing an oversized plaid flannel or tying a plaid shirt around my waist. This Fashionista has taken this trend and made it her own, while still keeping the cozy winter sweaters and booties we all know and love.
How should you wear plaid, you ask? Just take a note from this Fashionista. This look makes me happy because it reminds of old school Britney Spears meets Gossip Girl during Christmas time: aka three of the best things in the world. She paired an every day, cozy cardigan over a thick gray tank top. She is wearing a pair of knee high socks and ankle-high black booties. Knowing that leggings and jeans are unnecessary when it is barely breaking 70 degrees, she added a pair of of plaid green shorts to tie it all together. She wore simple jewelry and added a black fringe purse to complete this perfect look for the holidays.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “Be bold and yourself.  If you want to wear a crazy print or pattern, go for it. Don’t be afraid to wear what you like.”
