Winter break is finally here and, while it will be great to relax for a few weeks, spring semester will roll around before we know it. This means it’s time to put all of the clothes you got for the holidays and the sale finds to good use! It’s hard to get back into the swing of things, but planning out your first-day-of-the-semester outfit will make it a little easier.
This Fashionista is sporting a blanket scarf, which—in my opinion—is one of the greatest fashion inventions. Literally the size of a blanket, this scarf is extremely warm and comfortable. A blanket scarf is easily the centerpiece of any outfit, since it covers most of your upper body. So, it’s best to style a blanket scarf with a simple shirt underneath. For example, this Fashionista wore the scarf with a plain, black tunic. Blanket scarves come in a ton of colors and patterns and are a great fall and winter staple!
Booties are another popular fall/winter trend this year. The neutral-colored shoes can match virtually any outfit. Also, since they are flat, they’re comfortable and great for any casual occasion.
The simple jewelry and distressed jeans make this outfit especially appropriate for class. This Fashionista has pulled off a laid-back style in which she looks put-together, but feels comfortable. Us college students know how important it is to be comfortable during lectures and classes that last over an hour.
One Simple Change: Don’t feel like squeezing into your skinny jeans for your 8:00 a.m. class? Wear leggings! Since this Fashionista is wearing a long shirt, the jeans can easily be swapped for a comfortable pair of leggings.
