Hey there, Fashionistas! My name is Allie Blissit. I am currently a junior at the University of South Carolina studying public relations with a minor in fashion merchandising. This is my first semester writing for CollegeFashionista, and I can’t wait to share the great outfits I find on campus throughout the semester!
My love for fashion started pretty young. Lucky for me, I grew up with two older, very fashionable sisters. The days when they would let me rumble through their closets in awe were some of my best. They helped to shape my personal style one hand-me-down at a time. Along with my sisters, I look for inspiration from the street styles of the fashionable ladies around campus. My favorite celebrities such as Jennifer Lawrence, Blake Lively and Emma Roberts are also a source of my inspiration. I like to follow celebrities and fashion designers on social media to see what’s trending. I also like to read up on trends through magazines like ELLE, InStyle and Cosmopolitan for insight.
My style is most reflective of my personality, very laid back and bohemian-chic. My outfits can evolve depending on my mood or a special occasion. Day-to-day, you can catch me in my dainty gold necklace (perfect for layering), my favorite pair of distressed Levi, and my go-to brown leather Madewell handbag.
Fashion will always be my favorite form of expression. I love seeing style translate someone’s personality. My mantra comes from the words of Rachel Zoe, “Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.”
