Hello my fellow Fashionistas and Fashionistos! My name is Angelica DaRosa and I am currently studying social work at Ryerson University in Toronto.
You may ask, “Where does fashion come into play?” Well, fashion surrounds me in everything I do and has always been a huge passion of mine ever since I was a little girl. I believe that fashion is a form of art and personal expression, allowing your style to be an extension of your personality and who you are as a creative individual. Some would say my favorite hobby is shopping; however, I believe that looking fashionable doesn’t have to be expensive. I believe in shopping on a budget yet still looking fabulous and making a major fashion statement. Being creative and imaginative is very important to me when styling different looks. I usually like to start with one piece and style around that, which is usually my main source of inspiration. I can take one article of clothing and visualize what pieces and accessories will take it to the next level.
In this outfit, my focus was on this super cozy, cropped turtleneck sweater. I love the versatility of this sweater because it can be dressed up with a skirt or dressed down with a pair of jeans. Here I chose to pair it with a faux leather skater skirt, which is one of my favorite pieces I own. I love the combination of this knit sweater with the leather skirt because it adds an edgy element to this look. For my footwear, I’ve chosen these over-the-knee black suede boots, which are so in this season! For my accessories, I chose to add this black wool fedora hat, which really takes this look to the next level. I find that simply adding a hat to any outfit really updates the entire look. I also decided to add a statement necklace on top of the turtleneck sweater to inject some sparkle and femininity to the look. Lastly, you can’t forget about a good handbag. This bag features a unique, multi texture design in a neutral color palette that adds a subtle statement piece without taking away from the overall look.
