Hello fellow CollegeFashionista enthusiasts! My name is Caitlin Yeck and I am so excited to have been selected to be a Style Guru this semester! This is my first semester as a Style Guru, and I cannot wait to share my style and ideas with all of you.
From a young age, I have had a love for fashion. When I was 12 years old, I adored playing a game called “fashion” with my little sister, in which I pretended that I was the boss of a huge fashion empire. Together, we put together different outfits and then created a fashion show! I loved it so much that I decided to turn the game into a reality. I am studying Fashion Merchandising and I LOVE it! The creative thinking process that goes into fashion is unquestionably my niche and my passion. I especially enjoy reading about fashion and learning new things to apply to my own style!
My fashion idols are Blake Lively, Iris Apfel, Lauren Conrad and Twiggy, just to name a few. I know those are all over the place but that’s one of the reasons why I love fashion! Individuals can have such different styles, but look equally amazing! I would definitely describe my style as eclectic and mood-based. I love different patterns, colors and fabrics, and I am never afraid to try new things. Some days I feel super girly, others I am in an edgy mood and sometimes I even take on a hippie persona! It all depends on the mood and the day!
I will leave you wonderful people with this simple quote by the not so simple Iris Apfel: “Style is attitude.” Let’s fill our world with positive attitudes through the voice of fashion. It starts here!
