Hello all! My name is Rachel Carpenter, I’m a junior at the University of South Florida in Tampa. I am majoring in communication with a special interest in marketing and branding. My goal after graduation is to pursue a career in marketing in the fashion industry. I can’t wait to take you on an adventure with me this semester as a CollegeFashionista!
I’ll give you a little glimpse into who I am and what inspires my taste in fashion! I’m a born and raised Florida girl who can never get enough of the beach scene. Even though here in Florida our winter usually doesn’t rise above 75 degrees, I still love incorporating all seasonal trends into my wardrobe!
When it comes to my taste it is sometimes hard to strictly define. I could loosely describe my style as bohemian with a touch of prep. I love the fact that through fashion, you are never confined into one certain style, at least in my case I tend to combine multiple throughout my daily look! My wardrobe consists of a lot of basic loose flowing pieces, as I love to layer my accessories! Also I cannot seem to get enough of the bootie trend this season!
I have always had a love for fashion. Growing up, I loved the high-fashion modeling scene and could not watch enough re-runs of America’s Next Top Model. As I grew older, I began to find my own passion for clothing and style. Working in retail for almost three years and counting has given me even more of a chance to express and explore my own individual taste.
The outfit I have on in this post represents all that I have loved about fall fashion trends! I know I can speak for all of us when I say, suede is here and it is here to stay! This classic suede A-line skirt has been a staple for me. I love how easy it is to dress up with a chic blouse or to dress down with a simple graphic T-shirt. The pop of blue in my blouse gives the fall look a breath of fresh air and keeps the look appropriate for the warmer weather us Floridians have been experiencing. For my choice of jewelry, I went with a combination of Alex and Ani and Betsy Pittard bracelets and my favorite Michael Kors watch with a couple rings. Of course I cannot finish this post without addressing my obsession with these cutout booties! Not only do they have a rich nubuck material, the cutout and peep toe allow for year-round wear!
I am so excited to continue sharing looks with you over the course of this next semester!
