Hello, hello friends and fellow Fashionista/os, I’m Hannah. I loved being a Style Guru intern for CollegeFashionista so much that I’m back again for a second semester! I currently study professional writing at Michigan State University with hopes of pursuing a career in the fashion industry on the editorial side.
While fashion has always been an interest of mine, it only recently became a passion. I learned I could take my writing skills and my love of fashion, and make a real career out of it. I look up to people all over the industry and take style inspiration from the likes of Alexa Chung, Danielle of WeWoreWhat, and Gigi Hadid. When I’m not in class (sometimes even when I am), I’m endlessly scrolling through Vogue.com, Refinery29, and of course—my Instagram feed.
My style is very classic and full of timeless, minimal pieces. On the occasion I’ll rock something out of my comfort zone, but I like to stay simple with a chic-touch. Living in the Midwest, we deal with a plethora of different weather in the winter, so functional outfits are a necessity. The best part about the cold is the different types of winter coats you can acquire throughout the years. Recently, I was handed down this amazing vintage Gucci leather jacket. I wanted to make the jacket the statement of my outfit, so I kept it simple everywhere else. Underneath I’m wearing a simple black knit turtleneck and then a pair of my favorite Abercrombie & Fitch denim. Being so short, I like to wear my heeled booties whenever possible. These are the perfect pair for any outfit and season. Personally, my favorite addition to any outfit, even in the winter, is a pair of oversized sunglasses, they instantaneously make you look that much cooler.
Fashion goes beyond what you put on in the morning. It’s a medium to express yourself, whether it be a pair of black skinny jeans, a floral dress or a band T-shirt—it all says something about who you are.
I can’t wait to spend another semester as a Style Guru, so follow along as I encounter Fashionista/os all around campus!
