Hi Fashionistas! My name is Isabelle Battin and I am a freshman at Manhattan College. I am a Communications major with a concentration in Public Relations. I am so excited to begin my second semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! I’m even more excited to start this semester off from my hometown Buffalo, New York.
My personal style consists of basics, lots of denim and lots of skirts. Growing up in Buffalo, I went to an all-girls private high school with a dress code where our strict dress code consisted of wearing knee-length skirts everyday. This is when my love for skirts really began. Soon after that, my love for denim began when I started working for a clothing store with the largest denim selection in Buffalo. The store carried any brand ranging from 7 For All Mankind to rag & bone. I quickly became obsessed with different distresses, washes, rises and brands. With in-house seamstresses on hand, I was able to watch every customer I helped walk out of the store with a perfect pair of fitting jeans that they looked great on and felt even better wearing.
My go-to outfit is a black shirt or sweater with a pair of jeans paired with lots of wrist wear such as watches, cuffs or bracelets. Although I am drawn to basics, every once and a while an amazing and must-have print will catch my eye. My overall favorite basic is anything black. I believe that no one can go wrong with a black shirt, sweater or even a black pair of jeans. Perfect fitting pairs of jeans are, in my opinion, absolute staples to every Fashionista’s closet. In the fall and winter, you can usually almost always find in a blanket scarf. Blanket scarves are another one of my go-to’s.
In this outfit, I am wearing a classic black sweater from J.Crew and a skirt from Zara, paired with a go-to Rebecca Minkoff MAC and a plaid reversible blanket scarf from Chloe Grace.
