Hey everyone! I’m so excited to be returning for my second semester as a Style Guru at CollegeFashionista! A lot has changed since my last bio written prior to my first semester here.
If you’ve been following me, then you know I am a Fashion Design student at Drexel University. One of the changes I mentioned is that I am now also a Retail minor, meaning in addition to the great front end knowledge I am gaining from my major in the design and production aspect of the fashion world, I now will begin to learn more of the back end of the industry from a merchandising stand point.
Another cool update: my hair is no longer teal, as you can see. I ditched my summer ombré for a more autumnal feel and attempted the dye-job myself for a second time and went with red. As fall is slowly fading, (spoiler alert!) I’m excited to be bringing change into my life yet again by going with an eggplant color ombré for the winter!
I also managed to fit a new job in to my chaotic and already busy life this past quarter. I’m working as an embroidery technician, a job I held previously at home in high school and learned I loved. For any aspiring fashion design students, this is the job I recommend for you! But as quick as this money comes in is as quick as this money goes out.
If you did not read my last bio, then the quick summary of it is I’m a shopaholic (read: this is where all of my money goes). So my next update for you is about the recent celebration of the best holiday of the year, Black Friday. While I did not spend a record breaking amount (and thank gosh for that; think broke college student meets starving artist and that summarizes my current financial situation) I did purchase a lot of great new additions to my wardrobe that I’m super excited about!
One of these purchases, I happen to be wearing here: my striped fur vest. If you haven’t already hopped on the faux fur band wagon, you need to welcome some fur into your life in addition to the return of the vest. I’ve paired it with this great flare sleeved top which is super fun to wear and makes you feel like an angel or a butterfly! Pro tip: if you don’t already own a great pair of jeggings like I’m wearing here, you will definitely appreciate them after being home with your mom’s cooking for the holidays! Finally, I top my outfit off with these great black knee-high boots. Personally, I’m a fan of a suede pair because tall black leather and buckles is too pirate-esque for me, plus the suede is super insulating for the winter! And of course, you can’t forget to add some sparkle and throw on a great necklace.
