Hello Fashionistas/Fashionistos! My name is Mia Amaranto and I’m a returning Style Guru this spring 2016. I am a sophomore at Western Washington University pursuing a degree in business marketing and a minor in public relations and I’m thrilled to be continuing my journey with CollegeFashionista because it has allowed me to combine my love for fashion with my interests in business and networking.
Living in a small city, I don’t see as much variations in style and people compared to those who live in a metropolis. However through the writing, photography and research I do as a Style Guru, I am able to learn more about how other people from other places express themselves through their own personal style and use that to inspire me.
As far as my own style goes, I would say I’m at a point where there’s no clear way of describing it anymore. One day I would feel like sporting dark lips and a black leather jacket mixed with other monochromatic garments and the next day I would be dressed in soft neutrals such as a cream-colored knit sweater or nude heels. Sometimes, I also like to experiment and mix up different colors and textures depending on my mood or what type of day it is. Most of the time, I’ll just wear anything that I think looks great and makes me feel comfortable and confident.
With the upcoming warm season of spring, I look forward to documenting all the new trends in fashion that my fellow college students will be wearing as well as all other future events from CollegeFashionista. Being a part of this team has been such a great ride so far and I am looking forward to all the new things I’ll get to see and learn next season!
