Hello Fashionistas/os! My name is Lindsay Monal, and I am a junior at Sacred Heart University. At the moment, I am pursuing a double major in Marketing and Eco-Awareness & Sustainability while studying abroad in Rome, Italy! I am so excited to document my travels through the college fashions I see around Europe and cannot wait to share the style stories of all the chic people I meet throughout the semester.
I would describe my personal style as pattern obsessed and comfortable. When I’m not wearing intricate floral dresses and tunics, I’m in yoga pants and flip flops on my way to stretch out at my favorite studio. I’m not huge into jewelry or accessories, but the times I do decide to dress it up, I always choose pieces that reflect my personal interests like the anchor bracelet I bought on a sailing trip to Charleston, or the Evil Eye bracelet I wear to keep away all the bad vibes. No matter what you’re into, it’s important that your style reflects you!
During colder months, one major key to making dresses work is having a good pair of booties to slip on. Here I chose a simple pair to balance out my patterned dress and scarf, but I’m not opposed to mixing it up and letting the shoes make the statement. My favorite part of this outfit has to be the bell sleeves on the dress just because they’re a little uncommon and super cute. It’s little details like this that make me happy, and if your closet has been making you sad, go out and buy some bell sleeved dresses; it always works for me.
I’m hoping my first semester as a Style Guru will go off without a hitch, and I can’t wait to go abroad and share all my fashion finds with you. I’m sure the Italians will show me a thing or two about what to wear, and I’m ready to see what this world has to offer.
