Hey there friends and fellow Fashionistas/os!
My name is Sara Tredway. I’m a small-town Illinois girl with an old soul. Southern Illinois University Carbondale is where I call home and where I study fashion merchandising. This is my first semester as a Style Guru for CollegeFashionista, and I’m so excited for this journey! I cannot wait to share all the trendy looks across my campus.
I have always had a love for fashion. When I was younger, I started subscribing to as many fashion magazines as I could, no matter what kind they were. I think this is where I got my all-over-the-place and eclectic personal style! Writing is also another passion of mine, and I love to write about fashion.
My closet is full of just about everything, but I tend to keep up to date with the most current trends when I create looks for myself and others. I usually add a little bohemian touch to just about every look I create. The main thing you should know about me is that I will always have at least one turquoise stone accessory or jewelry piece on! To me, layering a printed scarf is always a great finishing touch. You can usually find me in an awesome pair of ankle boots as well.
I take pride in myself for being able to create super trendy looks on a budget. Clearance racks, thrift stores and vintage clothing have always been my go-to when I shop. By studying the most current trends and magazines, I can create trendy looks with random pieces without having to spend a fortune on the most current designer clothes. Budgets are great because then I can make a designer splurge every once in awhile!
Fashion has always been the way that I have expressed myself to others. My whole life revolves around everything fashion because I love how a great look has the ability to make happiness for myself and for others! “Dress for success” has always been the motto that I live by. Everyone has their own sense of style, and I hope to be able to show everyone that fact.
