Hello everyone; I’m Sam Kelly, and I am a new Style Guru for CollegeFashionista! I am a fashion merchandising major at SUNY Oneonta! Ever since I was a little girl, I have always had a love for all things fashion. No matter if it was a regular day at school or an afternoon at a friend’s house, I always dressed to impress. My favorite kind of style is a sophisticated jacket, gorgeously oversized handbag and fun necklace! One major thing about my style is that it is always changing and evolving! Fashion is a major part of my life, and the fact that I get to make a living out of it someday is truly a blessing!
In my almost 20 years on this earth, I have come to enjoy and take interests in many things. Besides my passion for fashion, I have always taken part in other art forms. For instance, I have a deep love for the art of dance. Much like fashion, I always found dance to be a great way to express emotions in a cathartic and transcending way. This beautiful art form, to which I dedicated 10 years of my life, has taught me not only how to carry but also express myself. Another art form that I appreciate is writing. I find writing to be a great way for me to express and stretch my imagination! I have always been a firm believer in the expression of oneself since I was young, and I think it is a great quality to have. My world has consisted of expression and imagination for the last 20 years, and I feel that it is what has led me to my love for fashion.
To many people, fashion is something you wear or something that is “trendy.” To me, fashion is a way to express and stretch your imagination! There is no set definition for fashion in my opinion because fashion is there for an individual to define. I feel like my love for fashion comes from a place where my emotions mesh with my imagination and the product is something creative and beautiful. If there is one aspect of this post that a reader can take away is that my heart will always belong to my imagination and that will be how I live my life!
