Hello fellow Fashionistas/os! My name is Savannah Slaton. I am about to start my fourth semester at Kent State University as a fashion merchandising student. I am so thrilled to be a Style Guru this semester. I am excited to start writing about the trends and new styles I see around my campus.
I have had a love for fashion since I was in elementary school, and seeing my dreams starting unravel is so exciting for me. There are many things that have become an inspiration to my style. People that have made significant impacts in my life have definitely inspired me, but most of my inspiration for my style comes from the street style of fellow fashion lovers.
In high school, I was always that girl carrying around the newest copy of Teen Vogue in her backpack, reading it in class every chance she got. Now, I just keep a few magazines on my desk at home and at school for inspiration. I like to start my day with a fresh cup of coffee at my desk while I get ready, and I can always see those magazines there. I take my time getting ready because I think it is an important part of having a good day and being in a good mood.
My style is very versatile. My style includes the majority neutral colors, though I do throw in some other colors here and there. One thing that I have loved to do for the past few years is go exploring, so flexibility and comfort are an important aspect to my personal style. During the summer, I pretty much live in high-waisted shorts and dresses. During the colder months, I lean toward sweaters and turtlenecks the majority of the time, as it can go with just about anything. I paired my turtleneck with a denim jacket. A nice sweater can be paired with a skirt or a classic pair of jeans. I always like to finish off my look with a nice hat or some fun rings.
I am so honored to be writing with CollegeFashionista this semester, and I can’t wait to share my fabulous finds with all of you!
