Greetings Fashionistas! My name is Sarah Myers and I just wrapped up my first semester as a freshman at DePaul University in Chicago. DePaul offers amazing access to the city of Chicago and so many different styles and trends can be seen around the city. Whether I am finding the best thrift shops in Wicker Park or just admiring the chic professional style of businessmen and women in the Loop, fashion is all around me.
Fashion has been a big part of my life for as long as I remember. I have attended private schools my whole life, so I’ve worn my fair share of uniforms. While it was a blessing to be able to roll out of bed and know exactly what I was going to wear, it wasn’t so great on the fashion front. This cultivated my love of accessorizing, playing with fun makeup trends and *especially* finding killer shoes. I have dreamed of being a fashion editor since I was a little girl so I am always finding new ways to locate trends, and translate them to my own personal style.
Today, I would describe my style as classic but with a twist. I love a good pair of dark wash skinny jeans and basic, soft tees, but I also love my leather jackets and statement jewelry. As December comes to a close without a snowflake in sight, I styled my look with all of my late fall wardrobe essentials: a pair of suede leggings, my gray leather jacket and a fun statement necklace.
Join me this winter and spring as I find Chicago’s most stylish Fashionistas!
