I love prints. Whether they are in the form of shorts, a cute shirt or a romper, prints are always my first choice in fashion. I like to have one main piece in my outfit that speaks for itself and is the centerpiece of the look.
As I was mesmerizing myself with photos from the Christian Dior resort 2015 collection I noticed a bold pattern in almost every outfit. I became totally inspired when I noticed a jumper styled look that reminded me of a recent addition to my closet: a red patterned pair of shorts. Red was all over this collection and the resemblance between the shorts and the Dior outfit I was coveting was spot on. This particular pair of shorts had had me dumbfounded for what to pair it with, but with a little inspiration from Dior I finally knew what to do with them.
With the obvious fact that we can’t all afford Christian Dior and are sometimes too shy to completely copy a runway look, my goal was to take the idea and turn it into something I would wear to go out in my college town. To achieve this look, I paired the shorts that resembled the Dior collection with a staple in my closet, a black short sleeved crop top. This took the outfit to something more achievable to the college-budget Fashionistas out there, and left me feeling really comfortable.
Another consistent aspect of the resort collection was chunky black heels and big bags thrown over the models shoulders. With that in mind I immediately paired the crop top and shorts with my favorite Jeffrey Campbell strappy wedges and a chunky black bag. This outfit came together as a spunky outfit that I love to wear when I want to feel comfortable in a bold look when going out with friends.
Get My Look: 1. Bold patterned shorts, specifically red. 2. Any black crop top. 3. Chunky black heels.
