Hello my fellow Fashionistas/os, My name is Valerie Vargas, and I was born and raised in California. I am so excited to be given the opportunity to write about fashion. I’ve always had an interest in fashion both when it comes to expressing myself through what I wear and as an art form in which artist create and inspire using human form as their canvas. “Dressing is a way of life.” I like to think of each day as a new opportunity to express how I feel with the outfit I’m wearing.
I would say my style leans more towards boho-chic, but I do have my edgy side. For example, my go-to outfit would include wearing a hat. Or if I’m too lazy to do my hair, I just throw it in a messy top knot, wearing a simple blouse to add some fabulous arm candy, some fun pants and some minimal heels to top of the outfit of the day. If I’m going for more of an edgy look, the main colors I would use would be black, maroon or maybe even white but, I will always wear a leather jacket to add some sass in the outfit. I find myself pushing my boundaries and stepping out of my comfort zone and trying new things that I usually wouldn’t wear and end up loving it.
A few of my style icons are the Olsen twins, Vanessa Hudgens, Blake Lively, Hailey Baldwin, Kendall Jenner and Gigi Hadid. I spend my free time looking and keeping up to date with the latest fashion trends whether is in a catalog, magazine or online.
When I’m not in class, you will find me working at a modeling job, surfing, spending time with family and most importantly you will always catch me with a cup of chai tea in my hand and a latest fashion magazine in the other (which should be replaced with a textbook —oops!).
Now that you know a little bit about me. I hope you know how much I look forward to tracking down someone for the Fashionista/o spotlight. I’m so excited to be working with CollegeFashionista and I cant wait to share my articles with you all. Get ready for a rad and fashionable spring semester!
