Hello Fashionistas/os! Meet today’s Fashionista, who is a sophomore at Portland State University majoring in criminology. She loves painting, drinking coffee and is proud to be a barista at the friendliest Starbucks in Portland. She is incredibly passionate about helping refugees in Portland by organizing supply drives and volunteering at the refugee center.
This Fashionista keeps warm yet trendy during the icky winter months by pairing a cozy white sweater and puffer vest. The ripped jeans paired with brown ankle boots keeps the look casual and comfy, but in style. This outfit is perfect for class because the vest keeps the heat in, but you wont be sweating up a storm at your desk. What I like about this outfit is that it has kept itself simple but this Fashionista adds a pop of color to her outfit with a bright yellow purse. You usually see yellow accessories in spring and summer, but paired correctly, it makes a brave statement in the winter. The gold, breastbone length necklace adds detail and character to her solid sweater and vest.
My other model, Beorn, is the friendliest dog I have ever met, so I decided to have him model in a few of the photos. He might possibly be the first Doganista? Portland State is right in the heart of the city with the Park Blocks right in the center of campus so it’s quite common to see dogs romping around.
My favorite accessory this Fashionista added to her outfit was the leather watch. It can go with any outfit and is a timeless piece. I could see the leather watch being paired with a classic black trench coat and some black leather boots as a staple outfit from Portland. The atmosphere of downtown Portland has made itself evident in this Fashionista’s outfit and style.
One Simple Change: A way to flip this outfit for a brunch outing would be to trade in the jeans for a light pink skirt and have the sweater tucked in. Whether you’re meeting up with friends or someone special, the skirt transforms the outfit for a more structured look.
