If you know me at all, you know that my favorite color to wear at any time of the year is black. Black is always a good option; its edgy, slimming and classic. That’s what I loved about Giorgio Armani’s pre-fall 2016 line: all of the looks use mainly different shades of black with a few accent colors and patterns. This line uses different textures and shades of black for the base of the outfit, while having a large, oversized top layer to add depth to the look. I loved the different outfits in this line and found that it was very easy to mimic them in a way that makes the runway wearable for day-to-day life.
Starting with my first layer, I wore my go-to, sleeveless blouse in black. This top is great for layering in the winter and really adds a structured edge to this look, which is very prominent in the Armani collection. Next, I wore my staple black denim jeans. Although both the top and the pants are black, they are different shades, which helps create my own version of the line’s looks. After creating my black base, I chose to wear my oversized, hooded cardigan. This cardigan copies the use of colors and patterns from Georgio Armani to make the outfit more interesting. Not only does it add some accent colors of blues and maroons to the outfit, but it is incredibly cozy, which is necessary in these cold January days!
I noticed that in the pre-fall 2016 line, the models wore little to no accessories. Therefore, I kept my use of accessories simple. I paired the outfit with my faux leather, black purse which adds another shade and layer of black to the look. Next, I wore a pair of silver earrings. These earrings are great because they are edgy, yet still very simple. Finally, I wore my favorite Vince Camuto over-the-knee boots. I am obsessed with these boots! They are insanely comfortable but edgy, and make any look more fashion-forward.
I absolutely loved how this look turned out. It was really easy to recreate the runway look and definitely can be used for a fashionable winter outfit. Stay warm, Fashionistas/os!
