With winter finally here chunky sweaters, fuzzy socks and sweater scarves have all been making appearances. What more could a Fashionista/o need this winter? The answer, a turtleneck. This trend can be spotted throughout the decades and it has made its return once again, and I could not be more excited.
Turtlenecks are the perfect closet staple to reinvest in this winter, with many different variations to chose from. When looking through the pre-fall 2016 fashion weeks this trend is executed in a range of different ways. Often it has been seen layered; either paired under vests, coats, overalls or dresses. Just take a look at the pre-fall 2016 collection from Acne. Since this trend comes in an assortment of silhouettes one can opt for a chunky oversized turtleneck or a thin-knit. If your looking for something more form fitting but still want to give this trend a try then go for the crop top turtleneck.
So how does one look rad while wearing this closet staple? Take inspiration from this Fashionista’s look. She chose to contrast her black turtleneck with a pair of high-waisted, cropped white skinny jeans. To add to the look, she layered it underneath a long oversized coat. Finishing off the outfit, she used minimal accessories including a watch, necklace and a purse.
