STYLE GURU STYLE: Feeling Free in Ripped Jeans

New favorite brand of 2016: Free People. Not only does this brand live up to its name, but it also makes YOU want to live up to it. It’s extremely contagious to all women of any age, color, or size, so watch out! You can find Free People knit sweaters at Nordstrom, and when they go on sale it’s an even bigger reason to buy them. The jeans featured in this photo are from 7 For All Mankind, and add more to my freeing feeling since they’re ripped and patched up too.

Inspired by the top denim trend runway shows from last year’s spring collection on Vogue.com and this year’s Alexander McQueen spring ready-to-wear collection, I put this outfit together. I not only love the patched up work from brands like J.Crew and Tommy Hilfiger in their spring runway shows, but also McQueen’s quality ripped denim looks. I fell in love with the freedom you have when you wear ripped jeans; they can be casual or you can dress them up with a fancier top. For example, wearing ripped denim with a white button-down and a statement necklace would definitely be a dressier way of wearing this kind of denim.

Nevertheless, I chose to stick to my Free People sweater since I was going for a casual yet chic, and very comfortable look. You can also find Steve Madden sandals similar to mine on the site now. I made sure to wear very simple accessories and kept to a gold scheme with some hoop earrings and Alex and Ani pile on bracelets. And like I warned you in my bio, I have a thing for hats and glasses, so I couldn’t forget to wear one of those to keep my look sunny and complete. Thanks for reading and make sure to keep posted!
