It’s all about capes this season!
No, I’m not talking about a superhero cape; I’m talking about a very fashionable must-have this winter. Now that this frigid season is well underway, we are always looking for new ways to style up that old sweater that’s been sitting in the closet since last January. Us Fashionistas want to keep warm, but we also want to be stylish while doing so! The key to being stylish—while staying cozy—is to accessorize, accessorize, accessorize.
Meet this Fashionista, a fashion marketing major here at SCAD. She hits this trend right on the head. The focus of her ensemble is, of course, her cape. She builds her accessories around the cape, making sure to not take the attention away from the statement piece. Along with this piece, she is wearing an amazing knit sweater from Free People. This sweater is a staple piece and will literally go with anything in your closet. Another staple piece to have in your closet is a nice pair of black skinny jeans, like these ones from Urban Outfitters. This Fashionista says they’re the most comfortable jeans she owns! Now for her fun accessories: because she has a neutral color palette ,she adds pops of maroon with her shoes, handbag and those amazing Dolce&Gabbana shades—talk about amazing color coordination! Why not top her outfit off with a playful hat? With it, she remains within the neutral palette.
