Aside from looking effortlessly badass, the Bouchra Jarrar spring 2016 collection packs a feminist punch all while providing the soft textures that are oh-so necessary for your February wardrobe. In an almost confusing presentation, Jarrar mixes beautiful, flowy silk with army boots and wool collars. Don’t even get me started on the wide leg pant—with a sea of skinny jeans on campus, it’s so exciting to see the wider leg make a comeback. The palette is an array of creamy whites dichotomized with masculine navy and black, a trend that spilled over from late 2015—and trust me, I have no complaints.
I used the mix of toughness and fragility to create my look. I went straight for this breezy white turtleneck; its loose, silky fit is giving me major summer vibes. Paying ode to the dark contrast, I paired the look with light washed denim bottoms (high-waisted, of course, because that’s really all a tall girl wants). To play up the edge I went with a thick pleather and wool jacket in a feminine and versatile hue- the perfect mix of rebellious and romantic. The jacket is my new favorite piece in my closet since it offers the cool-girl vibe but still that cold-girl protection. And just for my own little twist, I added a men’s watch with gold detail to add that masculine touch, similar to the accents showcased in the collection.
