Winter in the Northeast often brings a dilemma for the fashion savvy; how to look good while still saying bundled in the brutal cold. While oversized parkas and sweatpants are often tempting, especially when the thermometer starts hitting the single digits, fashion-goers fear not, there are other options! This Fashionista shows us how to look cool while keeping warm, even during the coldest days.
Our Fashionista has taken one of my favorite looks, stylish black, and integrated her own personal flare to add both personality and fun to the outfit. Starting with the base, this outfit includes a pair of simple black skinny jeans, heeled booties and a royal blue top to add a pop of color.
As said by Oscar de la Renta, “A woman makes an outfit with her own accessories.” Utilizing a gray scarf was the perfect accessory to add additional warmth to this outfit while providing another layer of color. Adding to the color dynamic, this Fashionista also used bold reds, such as her lip, polish and glittering gold’s seen in her Michael Kors purse and jewelry to create a head turning look.
While our Fashionista choose to embrace her roots by accessorizing with a unique handmade snake ring she purchased back in Columbia, you can purchase a similar accessory here.
Incorporating keeping warm into runway ready, the final touch to perfect this look is a faux fur-hooded jacket, which was purchased at Zara. Fur is multifunctional, providing both protections against the cold while keeping any look polished and posh.
What is your STYLE ADVICE OF THE WEEK? “You should absolutely add fur to an outfit for a fun and warm accessory!”
