WHAT TO WEAR: Winter

Don’t let a cold campus cramp your style. There are many different ways you can achieve a fashion-forward look this winter. However, It all begins with your coat. Although parkas are every college kid’s go-to winter coat, a button-down peacoat can be just as warm and much more stylish. Opt for a bright color to stand out this season. Take a note from this Fashionista and add layers, like a scarf, for extra warmth.

Next are jeans: warm enough to walk around campus and comfortable enough for a class. In my case, I prefer jeggings. Who said comfort can’t be cute? Cuff your jeans and add a bootie. A pair of booties is another necessity this winter. With a pair of fuzzy socks, they stay quite cozy. I wear mine religiously because they go with everything. If your feet need more warmth, try Sorel boots. Us Michiganders use them to survive those harsh winter days. Skinny jeans pair perfectly with this furry boot.

Accessories are what make or break an outfit. Adding a scarf can make all the difference, especially when it comes to cold weather. Wearing gloves and a hat are a necessity for me. This Fashionista pulls off not wearing either. She keeps her hands nice and toasty in her pockets, which still allows for her silver watch to peak through. She rocks aviator sunglasses and a black leather purse with her winter-ready look. This bag is perfect for class. It carries all the necessities that would normally get lost in a backpack.

One Simple Change: Take this look from day to night all by changing your shoes. A pair of lace up heels would dress this look up for the night. I’d also leave the scarf at home and rock a slicked back pony.
